By far, the most popular shrimp in the aquarium hobby is the Neocaridina species (often referred to as the cherry shrimp). They are considered one of the hardiest freshwater shrimp, and are suggested for beginners who might be new to the shrimp-keeping hobby. The Neocaridina have been carefully bred to display a wide array of colors and patterns, making them very popular in the hobby, especially as additions to planted tanks. This is due to their bright colors which contrasts against the green of the plants. Plants N Fins breeds descendants of award winning “Neo” lines of Blue, Black, Yellow, Red, Green, and White varieties that have been meticulously bred to display the brightest of colors and are considered the highest grade of the Neocardinia in their respective colors. These are the water parameters we use to breed the shrimp: Temp: 74 TDS: 200 ppm pH: 7.6 Gh: 6 KH: 7 Though we are strict on our breeding water ranges, these shrimp can flourish in the wide range of water parameters below: Temp: 68 - 80 TDS: 180 - 300 ppm pH: 6.5 - 7.8 GH: 4-8 KH: 4-12 For the healthiest shrimp, the most important factor is stability. Once water conditions have been met, it is better NOT to conduct large water changes or full filter cleaning. They are a low maintenance animal that can be temper-mental if conditions fluctuate drastically and frequently We feed our shrimp Shrimp King Complete food and we recommend you do as well to see great results with health and color.
