Cryptocoryne Costata

Cryptocoryne Costata, also known as the ribbed or fluted crypt, is a species of aquatic plant from the Araceae family. It is native to South-East Asia and is often found in rivers and streams with slow to moderate water flow. This plant is often used in aquariums as a foreground or mid-ground plant and is highly sought after for its unique and attractive appearance.

The leaves of Cryptocoryne Costata are elongated and narrow, measuring up to 20cm in length and 2cm in width. They have a distinct ribbed or fluted appearance, with alternating light and dark green stripes running along the length of the leaf. The plant has a relatively slow growth rate and can reach a height of up to 30cm under the right conditions.

Cryptocoryne Costata is a hardy plant that can thrive in a wide range of water conditions. It prefers soft to moderately hard water with a pH range of 6.0-7.5 and a temperature range of 22-28ᄀC. This plant is best grown in nutrient-rich substrates and can benefit from regular dosing of fertilizers to encourage healthy growth. It can also be propagated through runners that develop from the main plant.
