Utricularia graminifolia, commonly known as grass-leaved bladderwort, is an aquatic carnivorous plant that belongs to the Lentibulariaceae family. It is native to Asia, specifically to Thailand, where it grows in shallow, acidic bogs and marshes. This plant has a creeping habit, with thin, grass-like leaves that can grow up to 10 centimeters long and 2 millimeters wide. Its flowers are small and yellow, with a spur at the back that contains a small amount of nectar to attract insects. As a carnivorous plant, Utricularia graminifolia traps small aquatic animals such as water fleas and mosquito larvae in tiny bladders that are attached to its leaves. In the aquarium hobby, Utricularia graminifolia is a popular foreground plant due to its delicate appearance and low-growing habit. It requires good lighting and nutrient-rich substrate to thrive.
